히다는 동물가죽을 대체할 식물성 가죽을 발굴하였고 이 친환경소재를 다양한 제품군에 적용할 수 있는 다양한 양산기술을  확보하였습니다. 

선인장 가죽은 노팔 선인장(Opuntia ficus-indica)으로 만들어집니다. 선인장이 다치지 않고 계속 자랄 수 있도록 성숙한 잎만 잘라서 일년에 두 번 수확합니다.

그런 다음 잎을 청소하고 더 작은 조각으로 부수고 햇볕에 두어 최소 3일~5일 동안 건조 시킵니다. 건조된 잎을 분말 형태로 분쇄하고 여러 처리과정을 거쳐 액체 바이오수지로 만듭니다. 이것을 면이나 폴리에스테르로 만든 실 또는 천에 덧입히고 압착한 다음 건조 시킵니다.

hida has discovered a plant-based leather that can replace animal hides and has secured various mass production technologies that can apply this eco-friendly material to a wide range of products. Cactus leather is made from the Nopal cactus (Opuntia ficus-indica). Only mature leaves are cut so the cactus can continue to grow without harm, and are harvested twice a year. The leaves are then cleaned, broken into smaller pieces, and left in the sun to dry for a minimum of 3 to 5 days. The dried leaves are ground into powder and undergo several processes to be turned into liquid bio-resin. This is then coated onto threads or fabrics made of cotton or polyester, pressed, and finally dried.
